what kind of pics are you trying to upload? Make sure they aren't gif (no support for gif with gd2), they have the right extension (one you set in coppermine config) and you have set the permissions on albums properly (chmod 755 or 777 recursively, depending on your server config).
Does "manual" upload work for you?
Make sure you have created the subfolders within albums, not "userpics".

Got a link?

PHP running on your server does not support reading EXIF data in JPEG files, please turn this off on the config page
That's what I get on your page...

Do you have spaces in your folder names?

Can you show us a printscreen of the folders in CPG?

Hi...

No, I don't have spaces in my folder names...
I didn't know how to show you a printscreen here, so I uploaded in my website....they are here:

www.satisfymysoul.us/coppermine/directory.jpg
www.satisfymysoul.us/coppermine/nonewpictures.jpg

Oh! And I didn't know if I could have subfolders, so I uploaded pictures directly into the folders, and subfolders too....

Thank you so much,
Julia

I'd still go for a permission/ownership issue: some webhosts don't allow CHMOD to 777. Try 755.

Hi....   :?

I know I'm probably bothering you with this....but I really need help.....so....I'm sorry!

I changed the permission to 755, then the folders still appear, but with a "Not writable" message right beside
And when I click, I get the same "No new pictures found"

What else can I try???

Do you think if I delete all coppermine and re-install, would resolve???

Thank you again, for your help and pacient, Julia

I wouldn't go for a fresh install yet (don't give up so soon). PM me this information:
* link to your gallery
* link to this thread for reference
* ftp access data
* coppermine admin login data

OK, after you PMed me your login data I played around a little with your settings; I managed to solve some mysteries, but not all of them:
  • The link to this thread is http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/viewtopic.php?p=6611 - I asked you to include it in your pm for easier reference (to find your posting and keep track of what your problem was about)
  • the folder /albums wasn't CHMODed correctly, that's why the batch-add had a nasty message next to each subfolder saying it had no access.
  • There's something fishy about the permission settings on your webserver alltogether: I had to apply the CHMOD settings to each subfolder as well (777) so the error message in searchnew.php went away
  • I uploaded some test pics and explicitely CHMODed them, but your server refuses to accept my CHMOD commands - here's what the info on the folder /albums/outra/ says:
    Quote
    -rw-r--r--    1 32227    jdranger    10536 Nov 10 15:45 fruit3.jpg

-rwxrwxrwx    1 32227    jdranger   134645 Nov  6 08:33 gradu.JPG
-rw-r--r--    1 32227    jdranger        0 Nov  7 08:03 index.html
-rw-r--r--    1 32227    jdranger    16534 Nov 10 15:49 site_logo.png
drwxrwxrwx    2 32227    jdranger     4096 Nov  6 08:33 sub1[/quote]Notice the rw-permissions, although I CHMODd them to rwx?[/list:u]
So, a lot of blabla you might say; this doesn't help me at all. True, but this shows that it's not your fault: contact your webhost and ask them what could be done about this - IMO they're the only ones that can help.

Hey!

Thank you so much for all your help!
I still couldn't fix my problem, but I'm not giving up!

Now I have another question....maybe a easier one...hehe...
I'm creating this website, with image gallery, forum, poll, and a lot of stuff.....including a little of flash too. Do you know a easy way I can "join" everything on the same login? So the user enter the site, and is automatic log in every seccion???

Maybe I'm going too far on this board and with your patience....if that's true, I'm really sorry, ok?
Just taking the risk....hehehe

Thanks,
Julia  :)

you can integrate user management of Coppermine and some of the most popular bbs (forums). If this is not enough for you (and you're not in for heavy coding) I suggest you take a look at the portal softwares already available, like phpnuke or postnuke (only naming two of them). One advantage of such systems is that you have the same login for all kinds of pages on your site. Another advantage is that there is a coppermine port for phpnuke available.

No, Do not give up
This is a problem that needs to be solved
I am having the same sort of problem now
I waited to upload new gallerys to my site and now the software wont let me batch more than one folder
Let me explain

First you should know I have about 3000 images already batched to the site
I have about 1500 more I was about to batch and this is what happened.
I uploaded all the images with cute ftp (PAID FOR NOT CRACKED)
I batched the first group of about 92 images worked fine no problems
I go to batch the second folder and t goes to the next page where you would select the album but no images show up. It doesnt say nothings there t just flat out doesnt show anything.

I have a good 5,000 images that need to be done in the next few days and im hosed. I aint doing them one at a time :)

you can check out my gallery here
http://www.godrics-hollow.net/modules.php?name=coppermine
not that you will find out much there but its a start
you can also contact me through that site. There is dozens of splinter sites who mimic me so a prompt responce and solution will be greatly useful
I am willing to work with whom ever via msn messenger icq or yahoo messenger.
Just get in touch or respond here
i'll check back

I think I found either a bug or just something that wasnt explained proporly

I have my pictures separated into files
each file has around a 100 pics
each file is numbered starting at 000 and working up
so basicly i have 34 folders and in each folder the first image is 000. Coppermine only loads the first one numbered 000 so I have to go rename about 1400 images to make each one different
Sux but thats what seems to be the problem as I went to a larger folder and it had 93-150 available to batch.

anyway its a pain and should be changed

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to put all these pics into one folder, but all you need to do is ftp them in their current (differently named) folders into the coppermine albums folder, make sure each folder is writeable, and you will be able to batch add no problem, and maintain the album structure you already have.

casper is right (I didn't understand your question as well, I guess you meant "folders" instead of "files"). You could as well batch-change your pics while they're still on your hard drive - there are a lot of free programs that will let you batch-rename.

I have many folders
lets label them a b c and d
in each folder lets say i have 4 pics lets number them 1 2 3 and 4

when i try to batch them coppermine will only read the first 1 2 3 and 4 in folder a, in folder be i have images labeled 1 2 3 and 4  as well as folder c and d but coppermine wont read them because it thinks the image has already been input into the system causing it to not show the images for insertion.

so in folders b c and d I had to continue the numbers with 5 6 7 ect.

that should be simple enough

This is only going to happen if they are being put into the same album.  This is just the same as in windows.  If you already have a file named '1' in a folder, you cannot have another one named '1', but you can have another folder with a file of the same name.  You can have as many pic 1's as you like in coppermine, just not in the same directories or albums
