help!!!
« on: December 12, 2004, 07:57:43 am »

Okay, I wasn't sure WHERE this would go.  Okay, I installed Coppermine by using my domain's cpanel's fantastico...and well, I can't get it to do what I what.
What I want, is to eventually making my layout, but what I wanna do, is set it up like the gallery at http://www.rosemcgowanonline.com/gallery/ (they use coppermine too).  I love how the categories are and stuff and it would be perfect.
I tried making the Categories but when I try to upload a photo to a category I get:  Sorry there is no album where you are allowed to upload pictures

you have to create at least one album, using the "albums" link from the admin menu. Recommended reading: the documentation that comes with coppermine.

Like I said, I installed it from my cpanl.  I didn't download it.

But since posting, I did try making an album, but it still doesnt help.
When I make an album inside a category, it shows up real funky.  It doesnt show a thumbnail, just a square picture for each album, but it doesn't even list the album names.

Post a link to your site.  Some fantastico installs use older versions of coppermine, what version do you have?
Have you actually put any pics in the album yet?

i'm not sure WHAT version of coppermine my fantastico has.  the link for the new installation says New Installation  (1.2.1)

now the image has a thumbnail, but it's still not how I want it.  it's uploaded at http://lucious-eyes.org/galore/index.php

You do not have the most recent version.  1.2.1 should be upgraded to 1.3.2 before anything else.  You can download the zip file from this site and perform the upgrade yourself.

if you have 1.2.1, why did you post on the cpg1.3.x board in the first place?
BTW: the fantastico 1.2.c build sucks, it's known to be built improperly and cause problems - you should do as kegobeer suggested and upgrade!

mostly, yes, I have that problem fixed, but not totally.
Is there a way to make it where the "Random Files" and "Last Addition" to not be there.....and when you open a Category, is it possible to make it where it shows as a list....like the names of the albums, rather than the thumbnail thing.

Both questions can be answered from the documentation.
4.10.3 Album list view:
  • The content of the main page
  • Show first level album thumbnails in categories

Those questions are completely unrelated to your first question! We have a "one question per thread" policy on this board, you agreed to respect it when you signed up for your account. You didn't bother to read the documentation as suggested >:(.
