Renaming files
« on: December 10, 2004, 06:15:02 pm »

Calling any technically minded people....Im about to start uploading photos to CPG but was first wondering if it is possible to batch rename all the files, removing the first 3 characters of the file name and leaving the rest of the name intact.

e.g. FGH_4566.jpg      to _4566.jpg or 4566.jpg

i have app. 5k photos so without batch type system may take weeks

Thanx

You would need to do this on your puter before uploading.  There are several free programs out there that do this.

Try http://www.1-4a.com/rename/ which GauGau uses, or

http://www.faststoneserver.com/FSResizerDetail.htm which I have.
