If you want the 'two galleries' to share the same photos but have different look, you really just need one gallery and use different themes to refer to them.

For example, the demo gallery that coppermine offers allows you to switch themes. If the theme name is in the URL, you will go directly to the theme:
http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/demo/index.php?theme=christmas2
http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/demo/index.php?theme=caliSkinV6

But if you insist on doing it the other way where you have 2 galleries sharing the same photos, you are going to make it harder on yourself.

Is this a very hard work?

I've two galleries running on my server (different databases), implemented in two different child-websites. Some albums are stored in both galleries, so the pictures are stored twice on the server. I've got enough webspace but maybe it would be more professional not to store the same pictures twice.

Maybe a picture can get entries in two different databases. I don't know.

Another solution is having only one gallery with different themes. ... Wow, just in this moment a get an idea:

If we can discuss it in this topic, please have a look to these two websites:

http://prim.dorfschule.ch (primary school)

http://os.dorfschule.ch (secundary school)

Both websites have a gallery (as a beginner I installed two galleries on my webserver).

Is the professional way install only one gallery, having two themes with different headers?

For example:
http://os.dorfschule.ch/gallery/index.php?theme=os
http://os.dorfschule.ch/gallery/index.php?theme=prim

Oh, it's really complicated ... I think without registration (only with different themes) it's not possible two have different indexes of categories in the same gallery?

Don't waste too much time ... working on version 1.4 is more important ...  ;)

so the pictures are stored twice on the server.
From what snowflow was describing, it seemed like the intention was to have one file used in both galleries.

Yes, it's true.

So my problem is another one.
