Importing albums from Gallery Mentalto to CPG
« on: December 01, 2004, 02:40:36 am »

Hi,
I heard that there was a mod to import albums from Menalto Gallery to CPG, but I couldn't find it.
Could someone please send me a link to the specific hack?

Also, do you know for what versions of CPG or Gallery that it would work? Was anybody here successful doing that?

Thanks a lot,

I searched for menalto, and read thru all the posts until I found it.  Please take the time to read all the posts, even if it means spending a few hours looking around.

Hi,

I was able to import the albums!

But:
- For some reason it is not displaying the characters with accents correctly. It imported a text like "André" as "Andr?"  - But the CPG is working in portuguese fine, but not for the descriptions oif the pictures. Is this an importer issue or an CPG issue?

- I also noticed that it imported the thumbnail titles (title in Gallery) as photo description (description in CPG). And it didn't import the photo descriptions from gallery at ALL!
Know what I mean?
Let's say an image haid a short title in Gallery "Short Title" then when you click you see the description too "Much longer description in Gallery" , what the importer is doing is getting the title from Gallery and using as description in CPG, so you actually loose that long description from Gallery, and you also import no title at all.

Does it make sense? Is it fixable at all?

Take a look and compare:
Gallery: http://www.snowbrasil.com.br/fotos-snowbrasil/CSTeam-Valle-Nevado
CPG: http://www.snowbrasil.com.br/fotos/thumbnails.php?album=4

Let me know if you need more details.

I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Yan

The board software takes care of this - the threads are sorted by last post that was made in a thread, so posting in an old thread is no problem, as it will go up in the board view.
