User Gallery thumbnail selection/display on index page

Would it/Is it possible (for CPG version 1.3.2) to enable a thumbnail to be selected/displayed for User Galleries on the index page- just as the option exists for normal categories. I know this subject has been raised before but I cannot seem to find a mod for it.

You can not find a mod because it doesn't exist. Currently, there's no way to have a thumbnail representing the "user galleries" category. If there was one, we'd be adding it to the core code.

Please someone try to work on this.  That would be really a nice option.  Is there anyway to code it but not use a web configuration button?
