« on: November 09, 2004, 12:56:11 am »

hello everybody!

i think that i killed my gallery  :\'(

i know that there are lots of similar messages, but i can't find the answer to what i need... i had nuke on my website that was not connected to anything, so i decided to remove it... hmmm... that wasn't smart, because somehow now my gallery doesn't work. here is the error message:

Code: [Select]
Notice: Undefined index: debug_mode in /home/rupagesc/.panel/web/bulletin/bb/cpg1.2.0rc2/include/functions.inc.php on line 96
Fatal error :
There was an error while processing a database query

any ideas???

i've tried to restore database, but i have no idea what i am doing anymore...
here is link: http://www.rupages.com/gallery/index.htm

So you removed the database that contained your nuke and gallery?

Did you backup before removing it?

TranzNDance,
yes, i think that i removed it... but i am not sure because when i go to the website structure, i can still see all the files. ??? as far as i understand, the gallery had nothing to do with nuke... and yes, i do have a backup. any suggestions?

Verify the database exists with a tool such as phpmyadmin, if it does then set debug_mode to 1 in the config table and try the gallery again. If it does not exist then restore it from backup.

if you actually have a backup of your database (a so-called dump), read the documentation of phpMyAdmin to find out how to restore it - you just upload (or copy'n paste the content) in the sql window. My blind guess is that you only have a backup of your files though, but not a database dump. In this case, all your data is lost and can't be recovered. Fiddling with database tools and deleteing stuff there without knowing what you do is always a bad idea, you just found out the hard way... ;)

guys, thank you very much for your answers!

the strange thing is that when i go to the "backdoor" of my website, i see all the files. is it possible that it doesn't go to the right place any more? where can i find a line that actually points to the gallerys' path?

I think you don't get the concept: we're talking about database entries, not files here. I strongly recommend asking your webhost for support, and do so asap: the longer you wait, the less likely it is your webhost has got a backup of your database (ask them nicely, they don't have to back up the db for you. You're asking for a favor).

You will have to use the proper words in your support requests, I don't know what a "backdoor" is in this context.
