Permissions denied?

I get the follow error message when trying to upload photos:

If it helps to mention, I'm hosted with pinchpenny.org and just did an auto-install using Fantastico through C panel X, and had similiar 'permissions' problem with all three image gallery options they offer as auto-installs.  Please help!!!

Have you tried 'SILLY_SAFE_MODE'.  See the docs for 'safe mode issues'.

You need to assign write permissions for the userpics directory.

on a side note: we recommend not using the fantastico buld of coppermine - it differs from the original and is know to cause problems. If you can, use the "original" that is available here (downloads section),, upgrading to the most recent stable release (cpg1.3.2) is recommended.
