Video Thumbnail problems
« on: October 17, 2004, 01:29:13 pm »

I looked and searched the forums, but couldn't really find a solution to the problem, so I hope you guys can help me out...

A few days earlier, I installed it on my server. Added tonnes of photos and worked out just fine. Now I was surprised that it also had video support, so of course, I added several videos as well. It displayed a standard video thumbnail, after reading the forums and related topics I found out I can create a thumbnail my own and upload this as thumb_filename.jpg and upload it to the same directory on the server as the videos. It indeed showed the thumbnail, or, better say an attempt to do so. All I can see is an empty dot in middle of the screen (the 1x1px border of the picture). When I edit the movie properties, I do see the thumbnail, but not when I'm browsing through the gallery. An example can be found here:

http://photos.dfu-clan.net/thumbnails.php?album=68

It affects all the pages containing video thumbnails (not only gallery/album page, but frontpage @ random and latest addtions also).
Extra info:

Code: [Select]
System: RedHat Fedora 2 Core
PHP Version: 4.3.8
MySQL dB version: 3.23.58
Coppermine version 1.32 (integrated with phpBB 2.0.10)

Besides this, I also got playback problems on FireFox (and sometimes IExplore as well), not to mention that the video dimensions are often really small, while the movie file itselfs is large (eg. 640x480 being displayed as 133x100). But I'm sure it'll be solved and mentioned in the other related topics (I hope so). :)

Thanx

Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately, either I'm really skipping lines when I read the posts, or, somehow you misunderstood me / the problem isn't solved.
I read those topics and FAQs already, and still I got the problem that the thumbnails are not showing up.

All thumbnails are uploaded in the same folder as the movies. Both way tried (using upload script, as using FTP).
The thumbs are named to thumb_X.jpg (or .png), with size 133x100 pixels.

Whenever I do a batch-add or when I click on edit properties of file/movie on the album, I do see the thumbnail. As soon as I return on the main page,
it seems to be gone. I looked at the sourcecode of the page, and it seems that it doesn't pickup the correct size for the thumbnails:

<span class="thumb_title">Lupo &amp; Kupido - CowGirl&nbsp;-&nbsp;1 x bekeken</span></td>

Hmm any idea how I can check this, since this is my own server with a standard installation/configuration.
And how is it possible that it doesn't work for 1 image/thumbnail, but does for another?
