Video Dimensions
« on: October 11, 2004, 03:32:32 pm »

Hi another newbie

When uploading a video clip it shows it dimensions as 0 x 0 and displays the video clip, as a plug-in, as a very small picture. Any suggestions?

Regards

John

Can you rephrase your question?  I don't understand what you want suggestions on.

Thanks for the responses. The link is http://www.flowingideas.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=random&cat=0&pos=-22

You will see that the site of the video is very small and I want to display it at is normal size 640 x 480.

Looking forward to your comments

Have you changed the video, ie, uploaded a bigger version.

I have looked at your site, where the video is displaying at 240 x 200 pixels.  The file info says its filesize is 1596 KB.

But the video on the server,  http://www.flowingideas.co.uk/gallery/albums/movies/DSCN0169.MOV (http://www.flowingideas.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-22) is actually 320 x 240 (not 640 x 480 as you said) and has a huge filesize of 7.08mb.  I played this by browsing direct to the site using both ie, firefox and quicktime player, and by downloaded it to my site to double check.

It looks to me as though the file on the server is not the one originally uploaded, as the details do not match the actual file.

But you can make it play at the correct dimensions, by clicking the edit pics button, and entering in the file dimensions in there.  The file info says it is 0x0, which means you have not entered it yet.
