Moving user's album to main gallery
« on: September 18, 2004, 08:55:07 pm »

Hi,

For example some users have albums, which are quite popular, but they are located in the users category, and "unofficial".
But administrator cannot move them(at least I don't know how to do it :-\\)
Perhaps this is a useful feature to give an admin a right to move users albums?

you (as admin) can move albums from the user galleries to the public ones, but not vice versa.
Click on "properties" next to an album thumbnail that represents the album you want to move, then use the dropdown at the top right to actually move the album.

Errm,

sorry, but this is incorrect.  The only way to move user albums is to do it in the database.  What Gaugau suggested has been asked for, but is not available, at least yet.

Well What I feel is that users should not be able to make categories BUT allowed make albums in Admin allowed categories. so categories will maintain the structure of the gallery as admin wants.... thats the idea

Yes, that is how I see it, with the admin able to select if users can create albums within specific categories.

Fabulous!  I finally found the answer to my question.  It was as simple as changing the album value in mySQL.  Thank you guys!
