how come if someone is registered to my gallery and they click on a picture the number of view of the pic doesn't change??

Either you are testing while logged in as admin or your cookies are broken. Maybe posting a link to your gallery would help.

That's expected behaviour. Actually, it's a feature.
How is this related to upgrading?

Post a non-admin test user account - you require a login to view the pics, so how could we check if you don't provide a test user account?
