talking of threads.
I have disabled comments on CPG and instead encourage the visitors to post on the forum along with the pic (put that thumbnail mod to use). How about something like "discuss this picture or Discuss this album" in the album/picture view area that will creat a thread in forum id that you specifiy?
example?
say user ABC is looking at album of cats and he wants to discuss some pictures on the forum(integrated with cpg). He should be able to click on a button and a thread would open in CAT image forum (id=4). If user wishes to discuss an album, he should be able to create thread with albums name and admin should be able to specify how many pictures should be inserted into the post.

The code you request would only work for a specific bbs; since coppermine has been built to work with various bbs apps, your request will have to be done as a mod (if it's being done at all). Feel free to code this and share your hack.
