Title: Passworded albums?
Post by: AgaBoogaBoo on August 12, 2004, 07:01:11 am
Is there any way to make certain albums only accessible with passwords? This would make sharing pictures with family and friends easier so they don't have to sign up and the pictures would be hidden from the rest of the web

Not anything complicated needs to be done, just something so when you click on an album, if it's protected, you have to enter a password to see the pictures

SOrry for not doing this earlier, I just did a search to find the answer, I'll use the .htaccess method for now, but it would be nice to see a simpler method for protecting albums in future versions

Is anything like this planned in future versions?

The current development version of Coppermine (you can get that from CVS) has the feature to make password protected albums.
Go to album properties. Select "Me Only" from "Album can be viewed by" and add password in the box provided.
That's it.
