Warning: I recommend you do not start modifying your themes yet - there still may be changes in the theme structure before the stable comes out.
GauGau
hehe, nice one. I especially like the layer technique, making it possible to use this theme with smaller resolutions as well (play with the window size to see what I mean)... :wink:
Any copyright issues for the Hulk pic though?
GauGau
I have a Fantasy / Erotic Art site ... And I recommand you to erase Luis' Royo's Pics : he hunts all the "stealers" on the net, and doesn't appreciate all people who put his pics on the web without his authorization.
In this version of CPG, HTML wil be placed "different" ??? I think coppermine has to be in xHTML, but with the actual code, it's too hard to work on it.
OK, I think you can start porting your "old" cpg1.2.x themes over to cpg1.3.0 - the way the themes work seem to be pretty stable imo. Please let me know if you need any help...
GauGau
wow, DM - you rock!

Some minor errors that need correction:Ooops! Glitch of my eyes. Should be corrected as soon as possible and added to the corresponding archives.
- in black widdow, there's a reference to a pic "rssgallery.png" that doesn't come with the theme
- in Christmas2, the admin menu is hardly readable (white on light grey)
- in Synthetic Blue, there's an additional language selector hard-coded on the right column that isn't supposed to be there[/list:u]GauGau

OK, added both new themes to the download section (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89658&package_id=98541&release_id=215703):

GauGau
P.S. What does the file themes/meltingfilm_top/images/pspbrwse.jbf do?
Several comments on the themes created by DaMysterious.But anyway, it's a good theme and I know I'm nagging about little things :D
- When viewing "Melting film" with a resolution larger than 1050 pixels wide, your design suddenly shows a big black bar on the side, which is obviously not part of the design.
- The rounded top and bottom corners of "Melting film" are not transparent. They have the same pattern as the background, but with a couple clicks in Paint Shop Pro you'll have four half transparent gifs which would make the design a little better imo.
- The background is set to "fixed" with pretty much no reason. You hardly see the thing and it certainly slows it down w/ me.
- Why is the table set to width="900" without any proper reason? Without this it would quite likely be viewable with 640x480 as well.
Hi, didn't know where else to post this, but I made a few themes this weekend (guess I was bored)
They are for 1.3 which is why I was replying here, I really like Coppermine, I just started using it last week and playing around with php for the first time, so it has been fun, kept me busy this weekend. A friend asked for a baby themes gallery, which is why I started playing with themes this weekend.
I will post a link to the themes, but I would also like to know what you look for in a complete theme? Should psd files be included? I have never used any earlier versions of Coppermine, so I have no idea if they work in earlier ones, from the sound of this thread it sounds like themes changed since last version, so I would guess they don't work.
Be warned most of my themes are girly so far :-*
Also still testing them with different browers and fixing a few things, but would like to know what you think.
http://themes.prettyplease.org/
thanx! :) Many thanx to the developers, already using coppermine on a major site of mine with great success, users love it!
-Marie
I will post a link to the themes, but I would also like to know what you look for in a complete theme? Should psd files be included?This is up to you as theme designer, but of course it would be nice if you could include the resources. If your theme can't be released under GNU GPL (e.g. because you're using graphics that have been released under another license) you're requested to have a readme file along with your theme that points this out. You could explain as well how to modify the psd files if you want to.

Hello,
Yes, you can convert all my themes that you want to
convert. The only limitation is that there should be a
link to my website on bottom of page (please link to
www.phpbbstyles.com instead of www.trushkin.net)
Nice one! It's in the demo (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/demo/index.php?theme=hestia), but I have one minor issue I'd like to see fixed: all other Coppermine themes have a folder name starting with a lower case letter - only "Hestia" starts with upper case (makes a difference on Lunix machines). Could you modify your package accordingly?
GauGau
although you corrected all references to the theme folder in theme.php and template.html, the folder in the zip file itself is still in uppercase...
GauGau
DaMysterious, you rock! SMF-users will love this theme, matching the SMF default look.
May I suggest a little tweak although? The menu items are being displayed with a serif-font - the "original" comes with sans-serif afaik (also increases readability for smaller fonts). Could you consider changing that?
Another thing: SMF is not being released under GNU GPL, you should review their license and at least give them credit in your readme file, better still: talk this over with the SMF staff... You can't release it under your own copyright terms if the work is based on another one's license that doesn't allow this.

Great looking theme DaMysterious.
However I would like to strongly suggest that you also now try to make effort to make your themes valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional at least for the index.php thumbnail.php and displayimage.php
You might want to checkout the latest version of these these files if you want to check validation....

I noticed you added the file "LewisMedia.txt" to your package - they have a paragraph in it that saysQuoted. OK, thanks - I got the mail. You won't need to update me on this conversation, just post if you got an OK from the SMF staff here (I don't need to see written proof), so I can add the SMF theme to the download section.

This is really looking very cool, nice work. Are you working on Tarique's proposal to make the output xhtml-standards compliant?I taked a look into the W3C site indeed and wil try to make one theme W3C compilant as test the next weeks. I have to read and learn more abaut that.
Clicking the W3C logo at the bottom of your coppermine page of course shows validation errors (because coppermine itself is not compliant), so I suggest removing the W3C logo temporarily (unless compliance is done).
But don't get me wrong: I'm really looking forward to have this great theme "officially" approved by the smf team, so we can "officially" use it.
GauGau

Thanks your initiative is very much appreciated
I will install your theme on my site (which has the corrected code) and then we can compare results
[update]
Here http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Ftariquesani.net%2Findex.php%3Ftheme%3Dsmf
Only 126 as compared to 416. These errors are from within smf theme (or so I think ;) )
Hope that helps
[/update]
Oops! the errors have gone up from 126 to 214 with your updated package.... See the same URL
That is what I mean Tarique and as you could see I did a lot of work already. Those code is'nt part of any entry in the smf theme not in template.html nore theme.php. Where does it come from? I wil as test remove all cpg tags included in template.html to see what the validation test wil say...

I wouldn't want any search engine spider to file coppermine.sf.net/board or my private gallery under the keyword "erotic" or any other keyword you have in your themes. My site's content (and this is what gets indexed by crawlers) is not copyrighted by you, so the copyright-tag is - urm - inaccurate (to say the least). Nothing of your meta tags would apply to my site (nor any site of the people I design pages for), even if I were to use your themes. I never noticed the meta tags before; I would have brought this up immediately if I had noticed.

After looking at the error pages I have started getting a new error after installing the new version of the theme created by DaMysterious : /public_html/coppermine/images/flags/sl.gif
I JUST installed the 1.3.0 version of coppermine (upgraded from 1.2) and checked in the folder and that file is not there, but there is s file named si.gif is there a typo in the code somewere? or did the version of coppermine that I downloaded just not have that image?

I'm getting an error in my web logs:
File does not exist: /var/www/html/coppermine/themes/default/images/tile.gif, referer: http://launch.digitaldaredevil.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=27&pos=14
It appears that theme.php is calling an image for a "default" theme but there is no "default" theme in the coppermine distro. The errors started after I updated to 1.3.1 from 1.2. I think this is a bug in theme.php.
I see the following chunk of code in the theme.php file from the theme I'm using "meltingfilm_left":Code: [Select]// HTML template for filmstrip display
$template_film_strip = <<<EOT
<tr>
<td valign="top" background='themes/default/images/tile.gif' align="center" height='30'> </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td valign="bottom" class="thumbnails" align="center">

{CAPTION}
{ADMIN_MENU}
<!-- END thumb_cell -->
<!-- BEGIN empty_cell -->
<td valign="top" align="center" >1 </td>
<!-- END empty_cell -->
EOT;
However, a default theme for coppermine such as hardwired has the following code:Code: [Select]// HTML template for filmstrip display
$template_film_strip = <<<EOT
<tr>
<td valign="top" background='themes/hardwired/images/tile.gif' align="center" height='30'> </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td valign="bottom" class="thumbnails" align="center">
{THUMB_STRIP}
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td valign="top" background='themes/hardwired/images/tile.gif' align="center" height='30'> </td>
</tr>
<!-- BEGIN thumb_cell -->
<a href="{LINK_TGT}">{THUMB}</a>
{CAPTION}
{ADMIN_MENU}
<!-- END thumb_cell -->
<!-- BEGIN empty_cell -->
<td valign="top" align="center" >1 </td>
<!-- END empty_cell -->
EOT;
I suppose if the directory path to "tile.gif" was changed to point to the appropriate file that would fix the problem, however, no such file exists for the "meltingfilm_left" theme. May be DaMysterious could take a look at this, I think the developed that theme.
All my themes are recently reworked on this topic. The latest changes/updates can always be found in my special Coppermine (http://damysterious.xs4all.nl/dload.php?action=category&cat_id=5) download section if needed.
can't download without registration, could you please attach the zip file to your posting, so I can add it to the demo and download section (as usual)? Thanks.

Although it's a matter of personal taste, imo the admin menu items in fiBlack3d II with light orange on light grey are hardly readible, I suggest changing the colors in the css class admin_menu with something that has more contrast.

Change note: some time ago we agreed to have all themes from DaMysterious in one place (as a sort of "announcement thread"). As this thread became increasingly longer and harder for users to cope with, I decided to have a whole child board labelled Themes (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?board=31.0) within Modifications/Add-Ons/Hacks (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?board=8.0), where all theme releases are suppossed to go (one thread for each theme). I'll move this thread accordingly, please start new threads for each new theme from now on (I'll have to edit your permissions accordingly).

If DA is having exactly the same buttons as the dev team, he can still split threads on this board himself, so should post new themes here, then split them to create the new thread. No need to wait for Gaugau. ;)
Less chance of others posting replies about other themes etc that might confuse matters, on the same thread that way.
@DaMysterious: reset permissions on this board - you should now have moderator powers here. If this doesn't work for you, please post or contact me by PM.
Joachim
modified the permissions once more, please try again. My apologies for this complication...

HELP ME!!!! how do you post a new subject???You can't post support requests in the mods board, which are for actual contributions. http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=14348.0
why don't you? There is everything in the cpg1.4.x documentation that you need to transform a cpg1.3.x theme to cpg1.4.x
Now that CPG 1.4.1 beta is released to public, hope somebody would update SMF theme to CPG 1.4.1
It would be great if someone can convert caliSkinV6 skin to 1.4.x . It would be greatly apppreciated
Cool. Can you pass me the theme.php file. I am having a lot of trouble making it compatible...
