Hi

I would like to create a theme that has 4 categories on the font page. Clicking one of the categories takes you to the album list within that, and so on.

I cant seem to get just 4 categories on the main page, also i don't want the info about how many albums are inside the categories etc.

If you need 4 categories, then just create 4 categories, not more, not less. What is actually your question?
To get rid of the stats, just search the board, this has been asked before.

I have tried to just do 4 categories, but it doesn't look the way i want it to.

I would like one image from each category like the attached image.

this would need a complete re-coding not only of the theme, but coppermine core files as well. You can have two columns in the album list though.

Is is possible for me to have a html page like the picture where the images are links to the categories. So i am not using Coppermine to display the pictures but html?

no, html is static, coppermine has dynamic content, so it must be in a dynamic page. What should this be good for? Post more details on what you want to do with coppermine.

Your current install uses a corrupt theme. Create a new one, based on the classic theme that comes with coppermine.

I would like a front page a portal of sorts where each of the front images links directly to the category, where you are presented with a similar setup, images that link to the albums.

if you don't like the coppermine start page to do this job for you, check the mods board, look for the rss feed hack or the random image hack (unsupported!).

no thats not what i want  i want to change the way that the categories of pictures are displayed Is this possible ?

well im not, i know nothing about PHP, i know HTML/CSS/JS but thats it.
