This plugin allows you to set the thumbnail for a video from the video itself. When on the intermediate page for the video (only admin users), there will be a button to create a thumbnail from the video's current frame. So you can position the video where you want, hit the button and the thumbnail will be set. It will require a modern web browser and will (currently) only work with videos handled by the CPG HTMLV player.
Note: if you have already created custom thumbnails for the videos that are .png files, it will be necessary to remove the .png files.
Updated: 11 May 2020, v0.9
Will now work with the Flash Media Player (https://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,79278.0.html). This video thumbnail creator plugin must be listed AFTER the media player plugin in the Plugin Manager.

A fine bit of work. Something positive comes out of all the lockdown time.
-
It doesn't work for me. I've deleted the .png file and when I try to generate the thumb, i've got the follow message "FAILED: could not parse image data". :(
-
What OS and web browser are you using?
-
I'm using Windows, with Xampp server. I've tried with Firefox 75.0 and Google Chrome 80.0.
-
The failure is indicating that the image info the browser is sending to CPG does not match what is expected to be received. Sorry, I have no way to match your setup to explore possible issues.
-
I've tried to change the server from Xampp to Wampp and it works! Thank you.
-
What is CPG HTMLV player? Tried to search for it but can't find it as a plugin.
Thanks in advance
Kriss :)

I worked out what I needed to do and it works! Something I have been looking for!

I had no problem with creating a thumbnail for your other two videos using the button. So perhaps your issue may have been associated with your browser.
After creating the thumbs, I changed these things on your site to provide you with better overall results:
Used the Filetypes Editor to change MP4 files to identify as video/mp4 (mime) and HTML5 Video Tag (player).
Uninstalled the JWPlayer plugin.

Thanks so much for the help. Things seem to run more smoothly now
