Title: Whats new in 1.6 ?

Hi,

I've had a look around, and can't see an easy way to find this...

I'm on 1.5.48, and preparing to upgrade to 1.6 (latest) - but what will I find is new?  I presume going from 1.5 to 1.6 meant it was more than just fixes?

The biggest reason that the CPG 1.6.x series took shape was because of PHP changes that were coming that would (will) cause 1.5.x galleries to fail to run. Unless you run your own server (or VPS), PHP 5.x will be replaced by PHP 7.x and then a CPG 1.5.x gallery will not function. Aside from that, there are not a large number of enhancements: better native uploading method; better admin tool features/execution; new/improved plugins.

CPG 1.5.x and plugins written for it are gradually losing support. If you plan to continue a CPG gallery for the foreseeable future, it is advisable to upgrade to the CPG 1.6.x series.

You will likely have problems with the theme that you are using. See the way to correct that here (https://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,79919.msg387167.html#msg387167).
