Title: Mobile Configuration Idea
Post by: PvtPulse on July 19, 2013, 02:35:12 am
Ok so I have this idea. I would like for when my gallery is accessed through a mobile device it's a tad different. Sort of like when u look at Facebook photos you can scroll by the swipe of a finger instead of the usual opening a new window. And every time a picture is swiped, it still counts as a photo view. I'm not sure if I've explained this good enough. Does anyone understand my idea? Any guidance.

Yes, that should be possible but would take some custom theme work. There are a couple of methods this can be achieved the simplest would probably be to utilise the responsive blankstrap theme available here - http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,76309.0.html . As it stands it should work on mobile devices but I have not tested it yet. A few modifications may be required to get image counts working etc but it should be possible if you are good with coding.

There is also the them switch plugin available here - http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,74827.0.html which would be able to detect if you were on a mobile device and switch to a different theme. For that to work you would need to design a mobile specific them.

Hi PvtPulse,

This may not be *exactly* what you're requesting, but Andre did make a decent Mobile theme here:

1) Theme switch (theme_switch): v1.0 -- This is a plugin that you need to install first.  It will help identify the device, and you can select what mobile theme you want to use.

2) Theme_mobile_dark or theme_mobile_light -- These are the two themes that you can use.
