Title: Basic Bridging question

I had tro uninstall coppermine after attempting to bridge it. So I cannot give you all the info you request. After reading some info, I do have a couple of basic questions before I attempt it again. I have a PHPBB3 forum that uses OpenCrypt registration software to validate all user info, etc. Is it the PHPBB3 or the OC app that I should be attempting to bridge with?

I don't know OpenCrypt. If PHPBB3 drops its user management and bridge itself to another application, you cannot bridge Coppermine to PHPBB3.
