Title: Individual Photo protection
Post by: dhulipala on October 24, 2011, 04:37:21 am
I am new to Coppermine photo gallery and want to know if there is an option to do the following:

I have say 2 groups family and friends.  while i have an album say New year photos,  i want to have 1 album while have photos restricted not by album but individual file.

Same album, some photos should be viewable by both while some photos only particular group users.  Can that be achievable.

Thanks in Advance

You could use the album keyword feature to accomplish that. I'm sure I already have done this, but I'm not 100% certain, that it worked. So please report if the following advice solves your issue.

1. Create album A and upload all "public" files into it (i.e. without restriction)
2. Assign an album keyword in the album's properties
3. Create album B and upload all restricted files into it
4. Assign the user group in the album's properties which is able to view that restricted files
5. Assign the same keyword as in (2) to all files in that album (you can use this plugin (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,70360.0.html) for batch-adding the keywords)
