I would like to be able to send email to all users that are registered on the system to inform them of updates and changes but I don't see how this is possible.
Could someone please point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

There is a mod available to do this. Search the mods board. Note, this was done for version 1.2x, so may need a tweak to work with 1.3.0.

Thanks, are there any plans to have this part of the main functionality rather than supported by a mod?

May I ask why not? I see this as a much needed functionality and it should be in the core app not just mod.

Mass email is just an euphemism for spam, I guess that's why Tarique doesn't like the idea. I confess I used to play with the idea to add this functionality while we were working on cpg1.3.0, and I decided to not do so, because of exactly this very reason.

Fair enough, altough I do agree that a function like that would be neat.
But how about making it possible for the administrator to write a messages that automatically shows to the user the next time he logs on?
In that way administrators are sure to reach the users. But not only that, he reaches them at the right time, when they log in and want to do something with the gallery. A message would then automaticaly be cleared for that user.
Best regards,

nice idea, I'll move your posting to the feature request board then. Maybe it will go into a future coppermine version. Of course everybody's welcome to code this as add-on.
