Title: [Done] Need to Customize who can view categories
Post by: sheenalena on May 18, 2011, 10:16:13 pm: I need to customize who can view categories. We would like something like a drop down box or a page with check boxes or maybe you have a more efficient idea to choose who can view a category and the subsequent albums in that category.

My client is a hotel developer and they do not want to share their construction photos with everybody, just with the people working on the project and the hotel owners. My client is willing to spend around $500 for this customization and the URL is http://gallery.wrighthoteldevelopment.com/login.php.

We would like to have this completed by the end of May if possible. I would like a quote on what you think it will cost to create this customization.

Do you need to grant/deny the access group based or user based?

If a user has no access to a category, is it okay that he can see that category in the category list (and maybe even browse that category -> see all album names) but cannot access the category/albums? Or have all non-accessible categories to be completely hidden for that user?

Do you have categories with sub-categories, or is it just a 'plain' gallery?

Depending on your answers I think I can create a plugin (I currently haven't checked if we need to modify core code) for around $300.
