Hi,
I tried to install my gallery (1.5.8) a few times already, with both types of assistants, but I always get a blank page after the installation is completed.
I followed all the steps, the database is okay, everything seems alright until I'm redirected to the admin login page.
Here is the link:

The link to install.php

I have no idea on what is causing the problem. I have smf installed in another directory, and I had to contact my host because the installation was uneasy, they got me a htaccess to sort the problem. Will I have to do the same for Coppermine? :-\

sorry for my post - 'cos it doesn't give a solution for maize232's question, but i have the same problem... i've already installed the gallery a few times (new install, classic install, tried the different ways), but that's all what i can do at my site. the tables created during the installation, i can see it in php-my-admin, but can't understand why the blank page, where/what is the trouble... :-[
(i read the documentation of this site, and what is in the downloaded, zipped version)
hope soon will get some help.
thank you in anticipation.

You need to upload all the files from the package. This is vital.
@katara: You uploaded only the sample theme. That works (http://beta-kata.bplaced.net/coppermine/?theme=sample) but it's not a real theme.
@mazie232: You didn't upload any themes. Themes are not optional.

Actually I had uploaded all the themes but I must have done some mistake while using the FTP program. When I read your post about not having themes, my first thought was 'what he is talking about?'. Then I checked on my files, checked their content and realized some SMF themes had been uploaded as well as the gallery's normal themes. I guess there was already a file called Themes on my computer, that I had forgotten to delete...
I've just reuploaded the file and I can now see the gallery. :)

Marking as solved.
