Title: Description Fields for guests
Post by: bobnorris on August 29, 2010, 03:03:50 am
I would like to have the same image description fields for guests when they upload images as registered users have. Should be an easy fix in the upload.php I would think.

Do you really want to pay somebody to change a '0' to a '1'?

If you allow guests to upload files to your gallery, they won't be able to add file details. This feature has been disabled as it's not possible to identify the user without fail (see thread (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,62522.msg323512.html#msg323512)). Additionally it may attract spammers to add textual content to your gallery. If you want to enable that feature anyway, find Coppermine's configuration table in the database and change the value of allow_guests_enter_file_details to '1'.

As a novice user, it is easy for me to follow the procedures for basic setup, but it is more difficult and I am frankly a little surprised that I can not (or can not?) Add custom fields or description for the registration form.

Hello,

I have the same issue, to have the same image description fields for guests.

I have changed the value of allow_guests_enter_file_details in the SQL but without success... , after uploading a file as a guest I get redirected to the homepage and not to editpics. Any clue on what could cause this issue ?

I have a fresh install of Coppermine

Thanks

koa

koalaii, please respect our board rules. You hijacked a thread and haven't posted a link to your gallery. In addition to it this thread resides in the freelancer board. As the thread starter hasn't returned since months, I'll close this topic now. Please start your own thread in the appropriate board.

Side-note: it works as expected if I change the database value, so probably you've done something wrong.
