Hello, I am having some issues with the new version of coppermine which I have installed at http://felicity-jones.org/gallery and wondered if anyone can help me?
I always upload my files via ftp as I tend to upload lots each time, as you can see when visiting, the smaller sized files have batch-uploaded fine. I have been trying to place some much larger ones and keep running into errors.
They are happily there in my ftp (using this file as an example: http://felicity-jones.org/gallery/albums/uploads/photoshoots/006/l001.jpg), but when trying to batch add I am told that the "album is empty" and the image previews are shown as padlocks only.
I therefore hunted the forums and tried the debug mode/simple upload/single file option, to which I got this error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 13312 bytes) in /home/fjorg/public_html/gallery/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 428
I have already increased the allowed file size in the gallery's config section, and am I wrong in believing that the allowed memory size shown in that error is actually larger than the size it is trying to allocate?

It just shows that you server is running out of memory trying to create the thumbs/intermediate files etc. You may have to speak to your hosting company to increase the limits set on your server (though I doubt they will say yes). A large image takes a lot more memory than the size of the image to process so another option would be to reduce the size/quality of the image in question before you upload it. Having a very high quality image online makes little sense anyway as it just uses up a lot of valuable bandwidth and in some cases means people will be more likely to nick your image.

A very detailed explanation of what Phill just told you is available in the docs - read up http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/upload_troubleshooting.htm#ErrorAllowedMemorySize and http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/upload_troubleshooting.htm#upload_trouble_server-sided_restrictions_check
