The best and most reliable way to make a container have a particular width is by putting something in it that is exactly as wide as you want it to be. If you want the table to be 1000 pixels wide, put a blind gif into it that is one pixel high and 1000 pixels wide. Not sure why someone would want to do that though - users on mobile devices with smaller screens will have to zoom out or scroll, so why specify a particular width? Instead, use the option Width of the main table (pixels or %) (http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/configuration.htm#admin_album_table-width) in Coppermine's config.
