Title: Album is opened to public but picture is requiring authentication
Post by: classic66coupe on March 10, 2010, 04:09:33 am
Upgraded tonight from 1.4.26 to 1.5.3 RC (very nice btw)

I have an album that is public.  Now it is requiring authentication when I click a thumbnail.

Settings for the album:

Worked on 1.4.26

All albums have the same security.

http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/groups.htm

Access Level

For each group, you can set the group's access level to:

None - Users cannot view any images at all, except for the one thumbnail shown for an album or category. This option is only recommended for the guest/anonymous group if you want to force people to log in to view thumbnails and the rest. For other groups, this option usually doesn't make sense since your logged-in users will wonder why they logged in if they cannot see anything; the option is provided here in case some administrators find it useful. If you are going to set a group's access to 'none', make sure the guest/anonymous group is also set to 'none'. Otherwise, logged-in users will find that logging out gives them more access.

Thumbnail only - Users can view the thumbnails only. If they click on them, they will be shown a little dialog box that they are not allowed to view larger images.

Thumbnail and intermediate image - Users can see everything but the full-sized image pop-ups (if you have any)

Thumbnail, intermediate and full-size image - Users can access all sizes of images.

The setting here for the guest/anonymous group is the same as the setting "Allow unlogged users access" on the Gallery Configuration page under "User Settings". If you update the option here, it will update the configuration setting and vice versa.

RTFM before posting (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,55415.msg270608.html#msg270608) in the future please. Post a link to your gallery in each thread you post in as per board rules (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,55415.msg270616.html#msg270616). Resolve your threads (again: as per board rules (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,55415.msg270631.html#msg270631)).
Upgrading is not just a matter of replacing some files. It also makes it mandatory to read up what has changed, at least if you have issues where things used to work one way in the old version and now appear to work differently in the other version.

Given your attitude towards your RTFM comment, I will choose to just not post in the future.

RTFM is just a forum term, do not take it offensively. Thank you for resolving your thread but please post a link to your gallery in this thread and all your future threads. Please do not feel discouraged it just gets frustrating for supporters when users don't follow the rules or read the docs that have been posted. The Devs have worked very hard on the docs.

Not respecting board rules usually triggers comments like "RTFM": if you don't show respect for our rules, why should we write with sugar coating and a cherry on top? The term "RTFM" is forum slang, as Jeff suggested. It is so good because you understood it in the first place.
Anway, if you chose not to post that's fine just as well.
