Title: I think the TopRated module is unscientific.
Post by: chzuqi on March 08, 2010, 06:24:57 pm
Hi,every one.
I think the TopRated module is unscientific.
One pictures rated one time and got 5 point is better than another picture rated 10 times got 48 point. How can I change the ranked method? And make the high ranking for a higher total score.
Thanks.And sorry for my bad English.\( °Д°;)/

I disagree. I think it works exactly as it should. Your problem is a personal preference, and one that can be easily resolved within config and changing the minimum thresshold of mandatory votes to the number of your preference, thereby ignoring those files with less votes than you have set.

Config -> Thumbnail View -> Minimum number of votes for a file to appear in the 'top-rated' list: X

Minimum number of votes for a file to appear in the 'top-rated' list
Used to determine how many votes a file must receive before appearing as a "top-rated file."
If a file has received less than "this value" of votes, it will not be displayed in the "top-rated" page.
This value must be greater or equal to 1.

Adjust as needed and apply changes.

I think is unfair to the picture rated more times.Anyway, thanks for your suggestions.I turned it to 5 and hoped that it can work well.

As Joachim already suggested.
