Title: [Closed]: Seperate Directories
Post by: btaz on January 08, 2010, 05:45:27 pm
It would be really nice if the pictures I add to coppermine didn't get mixed with the thumb_ and normal_ generated pictures.  This way I could more easily move my pictures in and out of coppermine. I don't know if there was any logic into the combined folder, but at face value it seems that it was just the easiest thing to do.

I vision the config would allow you to enter the folder path for each of the directories
path for original:   [default: albums/]
path for thumbs:  [default: albums/]
path for originals: [default: albums/]

The above would provide the same configuration as it is now, but the following selection would give different directories

path for original:   [default: albums/original]
path for thumbs:  [default: albums/thumbs]
path for originals: [default: albums/normal]

So that the folder directories would end up looking like
albums/
    original/
    thumbs/
    normal/

Thanks,
-BT

Disable safe mode and you'll have nicely organized folders...

I have safe mode off in my php.ini and "silly safe" mode unchecked in the coppermine config and see all my originals, thumbs_, and normal_ all in the same directory.

What safe mode are you referring to?

Then you might consider doing as you're suppossed to do as per board rules anyway: post a link to your gallery!

I don't have my sever public.  I suppose I could put up a demo, but you still wouldn't be able to see the underlying directory structure that coppermine creates which is the feature that I am suggesting adding.  I've attached a picture of a test directory from which it can be seen that the originals, thumbs_, and normals_ are all in the same place.

If your server isn't publicly accessible then you're on your own with your issue. Not a valid feature request anyway.  Moving to support board and marking accordingly.
