Title: Install 1.2 now and upgrade later?

I planned on installing the 1.2 Coppermine when I saw the announcement of 1.3 being release soon.

Is the upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3 going to be easy as pie? Don't want to upload hundreds of photos and get a big problem during the upgrade .  Thanks.

Upgrade to 1.3 will mean uploading the new files to your server and running the upgrade script - it is not anticipated to be difficult even for a complete novice
