hi, every folder i uploaded and viewed from BATCH ADD FILES displays Not Writable. From my hosting cpanel i can see these folders inside album folders has 0755 permissions.
So every time after i upload folder with pictures inside album folder from ftp; i go to hosting cpanel --> filemanager select the uploaded album folder; change permissions to 0777 then go back to coppermine Batch Add Files and select album to create album. Then once album is been created i then go back to hosting cpanel -->> filemanager and change folder permission back to 0755.
It wasnt like this before when i was with windows based hosting. But recently i moved to linux based hosting and this problem is occuring.
If i click on Not Writable folder it says :
""Warning: the script can't write in this directory, you need to change its mode to 755 or 777 before trying to add the files !""
whereas these folders are already 0755.
Is there anything i can do so that i dont need to change permissions after uploading.

i normally upload the pictures using cute ftp and on windows based hosting everything was fine. Now with this linux based i ahve change it to 0777 then creae album then change back to 0755. Is this problem from my hosting side?
Also if i leave those album folder 0777, will it be security risk?
