Title: upload and batch add for users
Post by: mortal on May 10, 2004, 01:22:49 pm
would it be possible to solve the rather small maximum on pixels for user upload, by allowing the user to upload pictures without adding them right away, and then be able to batch add (like the admin) afterwords, i think that it would solve the problem with the limit in php.ini and gd limits.

Batch adding has the same restrictions as adding by html, when it comes to pixel size, as the same server settings apply, and the image lib uses as much memory either way.  Trying to  batch add a pic that failed by html because of memory restrictions will also fail.
And the 'small' size you call it, is plenty big enough for usual web use and display of pics.

as a rule of thumb: if you need bigger files or higher resolutions, you'll have to pay more for your webhosting ;)
