Title: [Closed]: Can Coppermine handle ............ ?
Post by: bbm on March 22, 2009, 12:26:43 am
I have been using Coppermine on my sites for YEARS and I LOVE it !

A friend and business-partner of mine had a Party site with a rather old Germand gallery script.
It works when it does, but so far, it's choking on the 28000+ pics in it's DB (don't worry, the server
CAN handle the load). Now this gallery made it to 28000 pics in 2 years. Can Coppermine achieve
this also ?

And last question, is there a "caching" function available ?

Thanks !!

CPG can handle it easily. Why use caching? Webserver too slow to handle the request?

Well, the server *should* be able to handle this. With the old gallery (non-cpg) it could not,
even after server upgrades. I'm "porting" the site to Coppermine as we speak, we'll see how
it will turn out...

Thanks for the feedback !

Wondering, how would Coppermine handle 100.000 images ?
I'm already working with CPG and love it.
A client of mine has a site with another script running only 20.000 images
and it's ported to CPG and works fine.

Just want to know if I can do the same for someone who has 100.000 images...

There is no limitation built into coppermine as far as the number of files is concerned that it can handle. It depends on your webserver setup, the size of your images and how busy your site is wether the webserver will be able to handle 100k files.
We have a strict "one issue per thread" policy that you agreed to respect when signing up. You have ignored several board rules (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,55415.0.html) so far. Don't! Locking.
