Can  I manage galleries with .swf files the way i can do it with .jpg files for example?

For the most part.  SWF support is available as a mod in 1.2.1, and it is built in in 1.3.  The only difference between the SWF and JPEG is that you have to tell Coppermine the width and height of the SWF file for it to display correctly.

at the moment this is not possible. Omni (the author of the video mod) is working on it though...
