Is there a way in coppermine to rotate a image if it is a photot on its side.. updateing the original and the thumbnmail?

Version 1.2x, no.
Version 1.3, yes, subject to having IM or GD2, and up to date php.

Really.. cool.. I am using 2.1 that must be it... I have a link for 3(beta4) that is the latest right? Is their any problems upgrading to it, or should I wait for a stable release?

There's no support for cpg1.3.0 yet - if you feel happy with beta software: go for it. To find out if there are any "issues" with it better visit the CPG 1.3 Testing/Bugs (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?board=19.0) board...
If you're new to coppermine I recommend waiting untill a stable version of cpg1.3.0 comes out.

There have been quite a few changes to the files since beta4 was released, so it has a few minor problems. If you want it for a live site, you would be best waiting, but it won't be long.
You could download beta4, and update the files from the cvs, if you can't wait, but it gets no support yet.

Thanks for the help, I'll rotate them in photoshop for now and wait for the next release of this very nice php offering.
