Title: Unable to choose album thumbnail because too many albums
Post by: Fabricio Ferrero on September 29, 2008, 01:37:15 am
A user of spanish sub-board have this problem. He says that he can't choose album thumbnail because the server crash because the big quantity of albums. (217... not so many IMO) Anyways, I read this problem used to happen in cpg 1.3 not in 1.4 and I can't find a solution in the forum. What to do? Link might help: http://www.riftmaniacos.net/galeria/index.php (http://www.riftmaniacos.net/galeria/index.php)

The large number of albums within a particular category might indeed cause issues if the server runs into resource limitations - after all, the script needs to perform a huge query and loop through many files to populate the list of possible album thumbnails. There's little I could think of except getting that user talk with his webhost to get a better webhosting contract. Another option would be to create sub-categories that contain less albums to pick from or to manually assign album thumbnails using phpMyAdmin.

That what I though. There is no much to do if you host your web in a bad server. At least this thread it's useful for future reference. Thank you very much.
