Title: Pictures in album store in each album folder directory
Post by: fangweile on August 27, 2008, 01:26:44 pm
Hello there,

I am spending sometime searching this board about it.

I have only found this relative links:
http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,53269.0.html
http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,16291.0.html

I want to store all images in each album in separate folder.

For example:
the album "Nature" have it's own upload directory folder named "Nature"
.../root/gallery/albums/Nature

Any idea or suggestions.
I really want to have a separate folder for each album to organized my files and to facilitate my picture sorting.
I know that I can add my own folder via batch add files but the user can't add files to that folder.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have searched everywhere and this is the same question that I have.  I have batch uploaded three albums so they are located NOT IN USER files and I want the users to be able to upload directly into that album folder.

Help.

http uploads go into your_coppermine_folder/albums/userpics/XXX where XXX equals 10000 plus user id.
Only when performing FTP uploads plus batch add (which is something only the admin can do) you can have a folder structure within your_coppermine_folder/albums/ that macthes your logical category and album structure within the user interface. There's no way to circumvent this, and there is no need to do so: the application (i.e. the database) keeps track of the location of files - the human doesn't have to.

I have only found this relative links:
Not sure what a "relative link" is.

I want the users to be able to upload directly into that album folder.
They simply can't. No mod, no hack, no workaround, no hidden cheat. They can't, at least not using the current supported stable release cpg1.4.x.

Locking. Don't hijack other's threads. Don't double-post (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,58030.0.html).
