Title: [Solved]: Two distinct Galleries 1 CPG install 1 MySQL DB - Doable?
Post by: PaulHenri on July 11, 2008, 02:43:40 pm
Greetings All,

Short version : Can I run 2 distinct Galleries on 1 CPG install since my hosting only allows 1 MySQL DB?

Long version : I am half of a face/body painting & entertainment company and am currently building our website. We need galleries to show our skills. The issue is that we cater to both the childrens and adults market. Hence we need both a child friendly gallery and an adult gallery (we do horror effects for halloween etc and body painting with upper body nudity - with the nipple shields and paint it looks like a tight tshirt really but people can be offended by such things if children see them).

So is it possible to run 2 distinct galleries on 1 CPG install or conversely run 2 CPGs on 1 MySQL Db?

Thankyou.

yes it's possible,
you must only set two differents tables prefix during the install process

Excellent!

Thankyou very much...

So brain fried at the moment I can't even begin to see how that'll work but it gives me something to do in the morning...

OK from the Docs : "You can even have several coppermine installs using one database - only the table prefixes have to differ in each case. "

Feeling a bit foolish now...

Thanks again for the prompt responses to my queries.
