Title: [Closed]: I LOST EVERYTHING :'(
Post by: cinddiie on March 24, 2008, 08:21:55 pm
My gallery is: http://hilary-style.net/gallery/

I had over 10,000 pictures in my gallery and I lost it all :'(
I was going through my databases and I by mistakely deleted the one for my gallery, so I decided to make a new one. Then I didn't know how to change it for the gallery settings, so I just re-installed the gallery by deleting the file install.lock
This just ruined everything though cause now my gallery is blank. I still have my pictures in the FTP files, but do I have to re-add everything again? Does anyone know how to fix this?
Please I need help! I've been running this site for over 2 years :'(

If you don't have a backup of your database, then you won't be able to restore it.
You might want to ask your webhost if they have a backup of your database.

If no backup is available, then you'll have to add all pictures again.

1) Messing with the database without having a backup is a bad idea
2) Not making frequent backups is a bad idea
3) Removing security toggles (like install.lock) without having an idea what it does is just silly

You have made many mistakes. It should teach you a lesson about the importance of backups. Nothing we could help you with.
