Have you logged in as an admin and set the language back to your normal default (in config.php)?

We're assuming of course that the problem is that it shouldn't be in Russian, after all the title/subtitle says: Gallery “photo-deg”
- Photographs of Novokuznetsk, which does sound a bit Russian to me (no expert though!)

Edit: Perhaps if the OP posts what actually seems to have happened with their gallery....

Language auto-detection works fine for me - the gallery is displayed in German for me (my browser is set to de_de as prefered language).

The question "why" doesn't apply, it's invalid. Try to figure out what goes wrong by being systematic: what happens if you enter your login data into the form and submit it? Do you get an error message? Does the login not stick. Post a non-admin test user account if you can.
