Title: My Coppermine Forum
Post by: foulu on January 15, 2008, 07:46:23 am
I spent some time to make a forum for coppermine, something basic, has enough functions, and run fast. I come with a first version, which demo is in:

How do you think about it ? I need some advise.

From what i saw when doing a quick fly over it looks as a nice add-on to cpg for when people want to run a cpg site with the possibility for its registered users to discuss pictures etc..

Can you provide more details on your forum ? Can only registered users use it or can that be controled through a back-end ? What options to set wil there be for the admin ?

Cheers
Hein

Looks nice. Will this become a plugin or a mod?

You mustn't re-use the SMF icons without permission of SMF. SMF is not open source - it comes with a license of it's own.

@Hein Traag: I build this one base on coppermine, it use coppermine user and it also has an back-end to create/modify/delete board & category. I also has a plan to make some enhance function for the forum like more "smiley" & bad-word filter so my goal is still ahead me.

@Frantz: It's a plugin now and it use coppermine css as well.

@PYAP: Yes, I can't tell that it is different with SMF  ;) but may be in the future, thing will change. I still develop it. Unregister can post because I want to test it more easily !

@Joachim Müller: Yes, Thanks for your advise, I alway want to take care the coding first. After that, I will remove SMF icons and may be use some free icon pack.

Hi,

http://kak.amfcvn.net/cpgforum/forum.php

I updated it alot, just a little more and I will have a first release version. You can also try admin panel by using those test account:

test admin account: fradmin / demo
test user account: fruser / demo

Even for a testbed I don't recommend posting the admin account publicly. I could easily add a backdoor on your server and exploit it later.

I agree with Joachim. You are at risk here. If you want the admin part of the site tested then select some testers and pm their your request for testing and if they want to do it you can pm the nescesary passwords etc.

On the bright side of things i'd say it's looking to be a good add-on for cpg. Keep up the good work foulu

Cheers
Hein

I already delete "upload.php" before post it ;D but I think there will be some risk as well. Okay, I will remove the admin test account.

I think I can tell that my forum reach beta phase now, it has all basic functions of a forum but I need some time to debug & enhance security first. The aprox beta release date will be less than a week from now.
