Title: Characters such as á mess up in Batch Add mode (friendly-version).
Post by: Albel on December 31, 2007, 05:59:10 pm
Let's say I put in a name like István on a folder on my server. When I go to the Batch Add section of Coppermine, the á character becomes a | looking thing, as if Coppermine can't properly show the character (ala what happens when someone visits a Asian website w/out East Asian fonts). Thus, you get the "no files in album" error, because it can't find a folder with that weird character in it.

Odd thing is, the Albums section shows it just fine. No issues there. As a workaround, I renamed the folder on the FTP, since the user won't see that, only the album (which is correctly named).

I couldn't see a bug report posted on this, either. Found this on v1.4.14.

I forgot the clafiry what I meant by it messing up. I mean that when I get to said folder in Batch Add, it shows up as that | character.

The technical term is "collation (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?action=search2;search=collation)"
See first if any of these threads give you a proper anwer to solve your problem.

Cheers
Hein

don't use special caracters for folder name on your server. rename it as Istvan and it should be fine
