Title: one thumb two pictures
Post by: blinkybill on March 14, 2004, 05:19:13 pm
hello

i want to make a wallpapers gallery, and to have two resolusions for each wallpaper(800X600 1024X768)!

instead of making two thumbnails in the albom, one for each size, i want it be one thumbnail in the album with the size choice below it!

like in this page:
http://www.amdesign.hostrip.com/animalinfo/gallery/wallpapers/thumbs.htm

is it possible?
i dont have any problem with editing files or using html, just tell me which files!
thanks for all the healpers

A simple but effective solution would be:
Before uploading any pictures go to the 'Config' screen. Make sure you use the following settings (please correct me if I'm wrong):
- Use dimension ( width or height or Max aspect for thumbnail ): Height
- Create intermediate pictures: Yes
- Max width or height of an intermediate picture: 600

Upload all pictures at 1024x768... Now there will be three versions of each wallpaper:
- thumbnail (very small, people see them in the album index)
- intermediate (800x600, people see them when clicking on a thumbnail)
- large (1024x768, people see them when clicking on a intermediate picture. The large picture will be displayed using a popup window)

That's a very good idea.  As an add on to this, if you don't want every pic uploaded from now on to be this size, just change the size in config as suggested, then use the re-size utility to remake the intermediates for the wallpaper albums, then reset the config settings you want for the rest of the gallery.
