Title: Thumbnail issue
Post by: davec on June 03, 2007, 08:42:54 pm
I have recently set up a gallery and included the shop plugin 1.3 and Final Extract V2.2. I created an album and bath uploaded some files yesterday. Today I have created 2 more albumbs and batch uploaded again. I now find that the thumbnails for the second and third images are not available. If you click the text the full image appears. Any suggestions?

www.barmission.com/gallery is the site

intermediate pics don't show for me. Disable the plugins to see if they cause your problems. If not enable debug mode and in case php error reporting

You're rendered the "Powered by Coppermine" tag at the bottom invisible (black font on black background). Restore it if you want support! >:(

Thanks for the reply. I switched on intermediate pictures and now all is well. Also I will sort the footer too, not intentional

Well I still seem to be having problems with the thumbnails. I have disabled plugins then batch uploaded pics. At first the thumbnails etc appear no problem. When I return to the site say 10 mins later they are missing. I have attached a debug report. Any help with this very much appreciated  ??? The first 3 albums have been fine by the way since the original enquiry.

Nobody asked for the debug_output. Do exactly as suggested in the upload troubleshooting section of the docs (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#upload_trouble).

Sorry I misread the instructions. I don't appear to have any error messages and have now set up a test account.

Username test password coppermine

The May albums are fine, the issue is with August.

There is no such album. There are three albums (named "May 4th", "May 5th" and "May 6th"), that's all there is. All of them display just fine. What's the actual question?

Recreated the album this morning. Basically added one image within 5 mins the thumbnail has gone. Test account is active (Username test password coppermine ) and also debug mode is switched on.

1) Your no-rightclick script is silly, turn it off

2) The file is not where it is expected to be (http://www.barmission.com/gallery/albums/userpics/03.jpg returns a 404)

3) There is no album the test user account is allowed to upload to, nor does the test user have the rpvilege to create a personal gallery. I'm reluctant to look into issues related to users not reading the manual and doing as suggested. Test for yourself first if everything works as expected before sending supporters to your page only to find out that you haven't done your homework.

Just a quick update really.

I have since tested the site on the servers I use and all is ok. The site is not hosted by me so will contact the provider for the company in question. It appears as before that the thumbnails are not being created.

The no right click script was asked for by the customer I am told that is the only reason it is there  :-\

I'm pretty sure that your webhost is going to reply "this is related to ascript on your homepage that we can't support you with". I didn't tell you to ask your webhost for support. Why don't you do as I suggested instead and set privileges in Coppermine's user interface accordingly?

Thanks for the reply. As per my previous post. I duplicated the site on a server with a hosting company I use and all worked as it should. That is the reason I am going to contact the hosting company that the site is on. I appreciate what you have told me and heeded the information. In the meantime I will set the privileges as suggested so you can take a peek.

Many thanks

Dave

The Augsut albums show up just fine. What's the actual question?

They only way I could get them to work was to create the albums on a test site on a different server. I then created them again on the actual site and manually uploaded the thumbnails. That is why they are now there  :) For whatever reason the thumbnails are not being created.
