Title: $50 to modify link in comments so it opens in a new window.
Post by: EugeneAllan on May 25, 2007, 08:06:07 am
Will pay $50 to have someone modify the function so that the embedded link in the comments for the picture to open in a new window.

Email Eugene at pets@mypettalks.com.

To accomplish this, the possible taker of this job would have to modify the way bbcode links are generated within coppermine. In an ideal world, there would be a lookup if a link points to the domain the coppermine gallery is installed on and open those links in the same window. Links that point to a different domain would open in a new window. In an even more ideal world, the <a href> tag would just have rel="external" added (instead of target="_blank"), and the new window link would be opened as suggested in http://www.sitepoint.com/article/standards-compliant-world

If someone is going to accept this job offer as suggested above (the ideal world version), we'd like to see this mod go into coppermine's core code as well, if you (Eugene) agree to sponsor this mod for the benefit of the community.

Yes, I'd totally support sponsoring this mod, and making it available to all.

Eugene.
