Title: User Management
Post by: djboxny on March 07, 2004, 10:25:45 pm
Well it would be really nice if the users page could be easier to find a user.  I mean i have around 3,600 users and i have to put the list in alphabetical order and search all over for that user, its a drag and really annoiyng.  The feature that i request is like a search Box in the users page to search for a especifk user. or something of tha sort

take a look at the memberlist mod (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=1985) (that will be part of the next coppermine version). Maybe that's what you're looking for.

I have version 1.3.1 and as far as I can tell (if I'm wrong, please let me know!), it did not come standard with a search option for an admin to search for users by username.  This would come in so handy, considering how long it takes to weed through 1,300+ members to find a few users to place into a new group, etc.

you're right, searchable member list is not available. I'll note it on my ever-increasing todo-list though.

Hate to ask, but is there a way to add this feature as an add-on to my current 1.3.1 version?  That is how desperately I need this function. Thanks,

I'm having the same trouble. It's too hard to find a member in thousands of the others. CPG should have a member-search page.

It will have in the next version, that's what Nibbler's posting means. If you can't wait, you're free to check out the devel branch of the cvs, but you have to understand that it goes completely unsupported. You (Sirowky) will get access to the non-public beta package sooner than the rest of the folks - there will be an announcment soon where to get the test version for all whoe contributed in the past as translators or with mods (meaning: we'll package up a beta within the next few weeks).
