sir,
how do i have the coppermine login form on my index page?
can it be used as a site login?
can it be common to other applications, so that once logged in coppermine and other applications see user as logged in?

you can have login form on your gallery index , here is some example

Yes , if you code it, you should use CPG cookies for authentication

It's not related to coppermine , you should check those APP authentication system and create coppermine bridge for those APP
it's better to ask your question on that apllication's support/forum
