Title: Are some mods restricted to the default theme?
Post by: adriano on March 03, 2004, 05:08:42 pm
I got some mods from the mods section in this forum and put that changed code into the neccessary php-files. Of course I made a copy before this. I use the fruity theme, but I modified it a little bit, so I use my own colors and the css for my fonts I like. I put a header tabel into it, nothing else.

I tried the mod where I would receive a email when a user uploads a picture. After then, anytime I got a blank page when I tried to save a new album or modified the desciption of a album. I did not tried more because my site should run, so I went back to the backup files.

This morning I took the mod where in the user panel some statistics would show up for each user. After modifiying the files, the whole layout of the site was destroyed and no navigation where shown. So I got back to the backup files.

Is this a limitation of using the mods only with the default theme or did I something wrong?

Mods usually are good for all themes, although you may have to adjust the mod if it changes things in your theme.php or template.html.

If you are having difficulty with a mod, you can post on the mod thread and ask for help.
