Title: Integration with Photoshop Album 2.0?
Post by: tmselim on March 02, 2004, 11:38:06 pm
I love the XP Publishing Wizard fucntionality for Coppermine, but now I'm getting greedy!

In the latest version of Adobe Photoshop Album (v2.0), they've included a menu that integrates it with online services.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  Does anyone know how to add additional online services to it?  I searched the Adobe site for some developer docs -- all to no avail.

If I could find some basic docs, I'd be up for trying to make the mod.

Any insight?

Did a little reading, and it seems this feature is for printing services. I don't have the software, but if you can enter a webpage for it to upload to you might try writing a script (a Java servlet or PHP) that will output the raw post data that Photoshop Album sends to it. This might give you enough of an idea of the structure of the upload to use it.

Alternatively, you can try writing to Adobe.  The location of that dev info is not at all clear on their site, but I suspect it might be in the Photoshop package for developers or in the printing services help section.  Be warned, though. It looks like they are picky about who they let have the Photoshop development kit.

The "Online Services" menu in Album (the full version, anyway) has a few different categories:  Order Prints, Order Creations, Share Services, Other Services, and Download.

What I'm dreaming of is a way to do what they do for Shutterfly (under the Share Services option) that lets you pick photos to upload to a Shutterfly account.

As I did some more hunting around for some sort of API doc (to no avail), I was reminded that Adobe's ActiveShare became the Shutterfly service.  So, it's possible that Adobe's just keeping this close to them for the time being.  ( http://www.adobe.com/products/activeshare/ )
